Special Events
There are two special events held annually each year in the Park.:
Carmel Valley Fiesta
The first weekend in August, the Carmel Valley Kiwanis Club holds its annual Carmel Valley Fiesta. Initially held in 1989 to celebrate the 100th Anniversary of Carmel Valley Village it has been held every year since then. There is live music, lots of food and drink vendors along with many craft merchants offering clothing, artwork, jewelry, hand made crafts, homemade soaps, and other products. The local Cub- Scout Pack offers games for kids. For car enthusiasts, there is an antique car show on Saturday and on Sunday there is a dog show contest. The County Search and Rescue team also provides a chance for kids and adults to do a zip-line experience.
Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony
The first Saturday in December is the annual Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony in the park. It starts at 4:30 PM with the Children's Choir from Tularcitos Elementary School signing Holiday songs. After some brief announcements, the tree is lit shortly after 5 PM. Refreshments, cookies hot cocoa and cider are served. It is a wonderful time for residents to gather and begin the holiday festivities.
